Bad Obsession Motorsport

Vuosi sitten

In part 4 of our side project, Nik reveals his cunning plan much to Richard's chagrin. We do some more stripping, more drilling, and there's a lot more impact gun action. The front axle gets some attention as we aim to get the truck back on her wheels.

those rivets, use an angle grinder to cut a x in the head, then go to air hammer. each one is around a minute. what i figured how to do anyway. great job guys.

Don't get me wrong, I love you guys and this truck channel. I have an idea for an episode." Vehicle engineering, clothing optional." I'm just throwing spitballs. In the US we don't call them hammers. We call em portable swinging presses. I would have done something like this myself but as grand pappy Pappy used to say " kid, you gotta whole lotta quitten in you." If you haven't thought of it, crack cocaine and this kind of work go really good together. Do you have any positions available for drunk safety inspector? I have a degree in laughing and pointing from the University of Myasswhole. If this work doesn't pan out for you I'm sure both you guys have a bright future in adult films.

Anyone else worried about the lack of polyurethane bushes, brackets and etch prime?

So what you are saying is, the outer box determines what driving licence is needed, the inner parts are interchangeable without changing the need for a new drivers licence?

Why didn't you just use the DAF itself?

There's probably 200 dollars worth of copper in those cables and wires. I hope you didn't just bin them, and instead took them to a recycler or scrap yard, it may be worth your time if you still have them.

I have noticed a trend, everything that enters the BOM workshop usually leaves with a newer drive train. Is this an obsession or a result of therapy.

Quite a number of drill holes on the chassy rails. - We’re in, Mate!

Outstanding work, necessitated by an overburdensome bureaucracy. In the US, as soon as you install a cot, a hotplate, and a port-a-potty, you can register as an RV, and no special licensing requirement. Some states, you don't even have to do that, just checking the RV box on the form is enough, you get an RV plate and away you go. Good for you guys finding a way to build what you need!

Fabricating 'spacers' for PRE-EXISTING brackets? What? But that must mean that... that the b- b- b- br- brackets had been made by (choke, gasp) someone other than Nik? NOOOOO! I don't understand...

You should have built a blue jig for this as well do you didn't have to grind, drill and weld while being on your back. Cause if I remember Nick hated doing anything on his back that didn't include a cowgirl. :D

Bit late to ask now, as I've only just started watching, but these 4 bolts weren't cadmium coated were they? White powder on the surface means cadmium Oxide, and that's very bad.

i have a dumb question ?. why didnt you just extend the chassis rails on the truck a put the body on the truck/ ...wouldnt that be easier OR ditch the big ugly yellow turd and build a house truck on the bare chassis ... that would have been easier more so...and you could build an awesomely cool unit with your great talent , both of you. oh by the way, have been watching every episode since you started . you guys rock.

Those chassis rails from the DAF could make for an excellent starter for a double digit ton press. I mean, they are scrap. They'd be excellent for that.

Hm, these Escargot videos are spaced about two or three months apart and your Binky videos are about a month apart so with that in mind I'm thinking the next will be an Escargot video since the last one was three months ago (a Binky video is three weeks away, maybe). That's unless real work gets in the way. ;-)

I find myself wondering how well those single leaf springs are going to handle the load. The front end of that bookmobile appears to be a lot heavier than the DAF.

You'd be surprised. Even my 18T Axor only has twin leaf front and that's plated at 7.1T at the front. Entirety of the Escargo fully and evenly loaded will only be 7.5T.
