In episode 22 of Project Binky we fit some nice speakers, a custom stereo, an ECU and we wire up everything in the boot including the fuel pump. The countdown to complete strip down for paint has started...

After 22 episodes I finally noticed that you adjusted the camera as to not light band. True attention to detail.

Tip you can also use a router to cut aluminum panels. By making a jig to hook to the bottom of this router with a 25mm wide, holes drilled every 10mm along pics coming out like ruler ,you could attach router then spinning round to cut circles.( Making, router compass)You can also free hand for unusual shapes.

At 15:58 the input wire to the crossover is out of phase. That is, the black-striped wire has been connected to the +'ve terminal which is contrary to convention and also contrary to the way the output terminals have been wired. Unless this inconsistency is kept consistent in the rest of the wiring the setup will sound like crapola.

Well your Obsession has made me addicted to your channel. I came here by watching 'Sarah-n-Tuned' channel, where there was "RacerX" fabrication items featured, by luck FIpost algorithm pointed me to your episode 32 three days ago. Now I have reached this episode from episode 1. Its much better than watching Hollywood's stupidity. I appreciate the time, effort & dedication to this British iconic car the Mini. Keep it up.

The answer for the speakers should have been some round woofers in the door with satellite tweeters higher up at ear level both front and back with a sub woofers mounted somewhere in the back down low.

To me it seems that sticking with the rear seats is the one big design mistake in this build. Boot space, Speakers, battery access - it all could have been easily sorted out by leaving out the rear seats and moving the firewall forward another half meter or so.

I absolutely LOVE this series. Thanks for all the inspiration and entertainment. On the cheeky side, I know how much you guys like to poke fun at we Americans and our use of the English language. Here's getting a little bit of our own back: 9:22 you refer to digital calipers as "digital verniers'. Calipers come in three types, Vernier, dial and digital. The Vernier scale (the scale with the vertical lines that you line up to read the measurement) is named after French mathematician Pierre Vernier (cerca 1600). If you have a set of digital calipers, they can't possibly use a Vernier scale. Can't have both. Think about it. What would you call a micrometer with a Vernier scale or with a digital scale? Micrometers. So, what you're using is a set of CALIPERS, not "verniers". As you guys would say, "Just taking the micky." Thanks for all the hard work on the videos. I recently had shoulder surgery and have been binge watching Project Binky.

In my opinion, mini's just shouldnt have back seats. It's not like you're actually going to stuff 4 people in there.

you know, since i am watching this build in one go in 2019, it's hard to truly grasp how glacially slow it has been. don't get me wrong, it is a bang up job. one of the best i've ever seen in fact. but whoo doggy, if this were a youngin, it'd be in kindergarten by now.

16:00 Either I'm crazy or you wired something wrong. I'm not sure how you do it but I make sure that the striped wire is negative, being that as the case, you wired the input wire (Orange with black stripe) as positive, when it should be negative.

I love you guys to bits but I have to say this: if you had read up on car stereos before mounting the speakers, you'd have known that passive cross-overs aren't needed anymore. Good head units have active cross-overs built-in. I assume that even Alpine has this feature nowadays - Pioneer had it in 2005 when I last installed a car stereo =) Updated to add: head units with active cross-overs usually also offer time correction - that's the shit! (excuse my French)

I fit 2 6x9s and a 10" sub into the parcel shelf of my mini back in the early 90s, i remember chopping the metal out, slipping, slicing open the back of my hand, watching my hand open up and seeing deep inside it, turning pale and one handed driving to the hospital :D Still got the scar, wish I still had the car!

I note the absence of grommets where wires pass through panels etc. Is this because you intend stripping everything out again before you add paint, or is the lack of protection intentional?

Hi guys you have got a lot of unforseen work ahead of you , ? are you going to put some kind of flexible conduit on the wiring harness and make it look really proffesional which i dont under-estimate your capiballities . Now that you are coming close to finaliasion have you got an up to date costing of the project and what will be the Final , it would be interesting to know , I understand a lot of this work is a challenge and labour of love ,
