Not so much putting a new engine and drive train in a mini, but scratch building a mini around a drive train and engine.

Re-watching the whole series whilst confined to quarters, due to the beer virus. I do remember when I first watched this, six years ago(!), I thought "at this rate, they'll have this done and on the road within another six or seven episodes". Stupid boy.

Ah, didn't know the mini had an automated carpet cleaning feature. That's so cool.

The main jig with the www.badobsessionmotorsport etc. painted on the inside of the rail always has something partially covering the entire URL and every time I see it my mind says "That says badass!" Really. Go on. Remember what's been seen cannot be unseen. Gotcha!

Ever since I've discovered this series I've been wanting to bingewatch it from start to end in one sitting. However, that wouldn't be fun on the long term. Also, I'll reiterate my statement from earlier: With the amount of panel replacing and cutting you guys are doing, you may as well have bought an entire MINI's worth of heritage panels to assemble yourselves.
Doellimann Vuosi sitten
Rear seatbelts? For what?!? You aren’t let people sit in this monster aren’t you?!? BTW: I love your Videos, the fifth in a row by now!

Just a small point. Did either of you strip the motor to see if it was OK before building Binky around it? CAD is essentially Technical Drawing on steel, which is much more fun. 26H pencil anyone?

I'd heard about this project in 2017, maybe, but never got interested. Raised on American two-doors with big, hairy V8's, y'know? A Mini with Celica parts just didn't catch my imagination. How very wrong I was. You gents are proper g'damn cultural ambassadors. This thing is incredible. If you'd shown me the panel work all primed and painted, I'd never have believed it was fabricated by hand & cardboard template. This level of craftsmanship more than makes up for the light weight and the handling characteristics I'm sure it will have. Several years late to the party, here, but thanks for sharing the build! Looking forward to getting up to date with it.. Remarkable stuff!

Before I forget... again, after all the fabrication (btw - fantastic work) how do you intend to prevent rust inside the closed in areas? I'm guessing you'll drill holes, spray in protectorate and plug with screws? ;-)

An interesting fact is that section of flooring-weld in Australian Minis was lapped the opposite way, because by the time BMC began building them here in Australia, the problem in the British Minis had been identified. While it was too expensive to change the production process in Britain, the Aussies presses & welding, etc., were corrected from the start! However we missed out on the Mark2 Mini, with its hidden hinges, no quarter- windows, & rectangular tail-lights (only found on our Clubman Mini with squared nose)! Even our Clubman Minis had external hinges & those 1/4 windows that were so easy for thieves to open!

er - you are fabricating a completely new car (well, 90% - oh all right 85%) - the hard way, piece by piece, from the inside out. I can't wait to see how much of the original Mini will be left by the last episode - the badge? Great series.
