In part 3 of Bargain Racement, we crack on with the build of our Citroen C1 race car. There's brakes to sort, seat to install, harness to fix and the cut-off switch and pull cable to set-up. We also take time to visit Croft circuit to drive one of the first cars ever built, on the media launch event.

That fastest lap footage genuinely surprised me. Blimey you guys really push them things to the limits of their design. It actually is comforting to know just how much modern, everyday city cars can actually take, for us who only use them to go to work. It also reveals that average car is far more capable than most every day average drivers. Awesome stuff.

Just found this series when checking to see if there was a new Binky episode yet. Looks great! Surprised you didn't put the cutoff switch on the rear panel though - if the car was on fire the marshalls wouldn't want to reach over a burning engine bay!

Hey... I resemble that comment about the bulkhead grommets. In my defense, you guys when so far in the "dry" build, that it appeared there would be no disassembly. As for my comment about the British rain finding all of Richard's nooks and crannies, [get your mind out of the gutter] I still hoping you sealed the chassis before painting.

I know the point of this series was to show that you can do real motorsport for less than those stupid sim rigs, but I don't think you'll change that many minds unfortunately. The sim guys will just complain that they don't want to drive a 3 cylinder and instead want to blast around in high end Ferrari's and Lambo's. Not realising however, that even in such a puny little car the size of your massive grinning face when you've finished will leave lasting damage to the muscles around your mouth! Haha. Sure, we all want to be a professional racing driver in supercars, but even these little shopping trolleys will give you far more real life fun than a digital Ferrari ever would!

My rear drum breaks were a pain in the ar*e to take apart when I had my sticky handbreak. Thankfully with a few choice words a cup of tea and some skinned knuckles later I had it all sorted. Great video .. I know what I'm going to do with my Aygo when it dies... Race car ....

Greenwood's Top Tip:- at 13:30 fitting the bolt to clamp the three battery cables onto the fuse box, it's worth fitting a nut under the ring terminals so they are clamped between nuts. The plastic can relax when warm causing commensurate greater warming. As someone said, don't ask me how I know.....

LOVIN IT.... Bought at least 10 of these little motors for customers as I reckon they are the best city car on the planet thanks to the Toyota engine, lightness and strength of a Kit-Kat wrapper, the rest is obviously garbage & I think this is how every one should leave the factory. I so want to buld one of these now... great choice boys..

Why are you isolating the dangerous positive battery terminal? It means more live unfused wire in the car than necessary compared to isolating the negative terminal. You can still use the auxiliary terminals to isolate the ignition..
