So much craftsmanship in this video I don't know what I enjoyed more, the finished look of the engine or how it was made.

hi guys, those crank and cam sensors are not hall effect sensors, those are called variable reluctance (reluctor) sensors. hall effect sensors have at minimum 3 leads.

Yes - I was about to say... hopefully you making moulds out of them - having that done, it would not be too hard to make the part from composite, which would make lighter and much stronger part. Although 3d printed parts are fairly light and strong, the FFF 3D printed parts tends to split between layers, especially PLA. Sure ... Ivan probably knows what he is doing and with right settings, temperature etc. it is still possible to make reasonably robust parts. They will certainly survive rocks, but any more serious hit and I am sure they will be split in between the layers. Other thing to note - PLA absorbs water, so if you primer layer (sealant) is cracked or chipped the plastic will start soaking-up water, getting brittle and I assume the paint and primer will start bubbling around the damaged area.

Binge-watching the entire series for probably the third time this year - still amazed at what you two can do in your shed, you are incredible engineers and designers. This car is probably going to end up as 25% mini 40% celica 5% MG and 30% hand-made by the time you are done.

No doubt electric vehicles are the future (yawn) but I like to think that there will always be obsessed nutters in sheds and garages all over the world prepared to keep the old skills alive. Grease and oil and gears and plugs and pistons and skinned knuckles and kettles and tea and biscuits... Oh yeah. Exhibit A: the song 'Red Barchetta' by Rush. :-)

And this is exactly why making a major motion picture is so damn expensive and takes so long. Here we've got two guys (and a girl) who get on really well together and with no major deadlines or penalty clauses hanging over them, doing take after take after take after take... Imagine some stressed-out film director, spending upwards of £250,000 per day, trying to get several egomaniacal actors who hate each other to complete a 30 second scene... And as there's a strong Discworld theme here, let's not forget the 1,000 ELEPHANTS. Ready when you are, Mr De Pratchett.

After 30 minutes I've had 3 cuppas, a whole packet of Choccy Hobnobs, and have let my luscious British backside get so far down that it won't come back up again. Shake that thangg...

wow some 1 who knows the correct way to install the brass inserts, the idiots in the 3d printing community just use a solding iron and melt them in
Matt Caudell9 päivää sitten
Definitely make molds of these for fiberglass before you do anything else with them. PLA is a great prototyping material but that's about it. As soon as heat is introduced those fenders will warp and conform to any surface they're on. I've had quite a few PLA prints ruined from sitting in a car on a warm summer day. I would love to see more of the 3D print to fiberglass mold process though!
